🔥 Deep Dive: xAI posts Grok’s behind-the-scenes prompts
xAI has publicly released the internal system prompts that steer its chatbot Grok, offering rare insight into the “behind-the-scenes” instructions that shape AI behavior.
💡 Key Highlights:
xAI published its Grok system prompts on GitHub after an “unauthorized” tweak caused the bot to post about white genocide on X.
The prompts instruct Grok to be “extremely skeptical,” stick to “truth-seeking and neutrality,” and clarify that results “are NOT your beliefs”.
xAI commits to open-sourcing its prompts going forward, joining Anthropic as one of the few companies sharing safety instructions publicly.
The guidelines also specify calling the platform “X” instead of “Twitter” and labeling posts as “X post” rather than “tweet”.
